Using a Raised Stencil to create Drama

Image

After painting this beautiful oak Old Charm cabinet in Black Sands from the new Silk All-in-One paint from Dixie Belle I set about adding some extra interest. Check out the below videos where I show how I used the Giovanna Flourish Stencil by Redesign with Prima and Dixie MUD to create raised details and Bronze Age Art Alchemy Wax to highlight.

In this video I show how I used the Giovanna Flourish stencil with Dixie MUD to create raised detail.

After painting the same colour to match I used Bronze Age Art Alchemy Wax to highlight.

I also used the Dark Damask Mulberry Decoupage Paper on the inside of the cabinet door inserts to reflect the damask of the raised stencils.

And finally I highlighted all the raised carvings and hardware using the Bronze Age wax Using a dry brushing technique.
