Refinishing a Linen Fold Blanket Box with Dixie Belle Paint

Image
I went for a classic finish on this linen fold blanket box. I used In The Navy as the main colour and Caviar to enhance the shadows. The top had some missing bits of veneer so I used MUD to fill those, once sanded back I used 2 coats of Mud Puddle to create a base. I then used 2 coats of No Pain Gel Stain in Espresso, (I tried Walnut first but i wanted a deeper colour). The handles have been sprayed black to compliment the shading and the whole piece was top coated in Flat Clear Coat. Extra details

Recently I've been getting great feedback about the extra details I add. I love adding peekaboo pretties that don't overwhelm the piece or your decor but still give another level of individuality. On the inside of this lid I used Mulberry Decoupage Tissue Paper in the design Bridgette by Redesign with Prima.
