Grungy Metallic Industrial Tallboy Chest of Drawers

I had some fun working on this piece and did a live video asking people to vote from 3 colour options. I was so pleased with the outcome as they went with the option I was hoping for.

Its painted using Dixie Belle Paint, I used Caviar (black) & Coffee Bean (dark brown) to blend and Gravel Road ( Dark Charcoal) to add the grungy bits. I used 2 techniques to create this look - vinegar and water in a mister bottle and a scraper. The blending was done on each drawer front the top and the sides and I used the Caviar to create a dark halo/vignette around each panel.

I added some Decor Wax by Redesign with Prima - this fab copper colour is called Element and it co-ordicated perfectly with the new handles I sourced. I used my trusty scraper again to apply the metallic wax in random places to give a little pop of patina to the grungy look.

I'm so pleased how it turned out, I was aiming for a masculine, moody industrial vibe and I think I nailed it.
