About Gracie’s House

Nicci from Gracie’s House

I’m Nicci, Owner & Creator of Gracie’s House, passionate furniture artist and proud mum to Gracie. We live in Bromham, a small village in Bedfordshire. I’ve been painting furniture for over five years and feel incredibly lucky to love what I do.

When it was time to upgrade Gracie’s nursery to a ‘big girl’ bedroom, I wanted furniture that was truly unique — pieces full of character and personality. Since then, I’ve never looked back. My love for vintage furniture even featured in our wedding day: my cake table was a painted vintage dressing table, and we signed the register on a desk I had transformed.

What started as a small search for pieces to paint and sell has blossomed into a full passion for rescuing vintage furniture from landfill. These solid, timeless pieces can be beautifully refinished and painted to suit your lifestyle — offering something far more unique and durable than much of what’s new on the market today.

Whether you love bright and bold colours, dark and moody vibes, or soft, subtle, and airy finishes, I create a range of styles tailored to your taste. I use layering techniques to add depth and interest, finishing with updated hardware to complete each piece’s new look.

All the paints I use are water-based with virtually no VOCs, and I strive to minimise chemicals wherever possible, keeping the process as eco-friendly as I can.

Gracie is now following her dream by attending stage school, and every sale and commission helps fund her journey. So, when you buy from Gracie’s House or commission a custom piece, you’re not only getting a one-of-a-kind furniture treasure — you’re supporting a little girl’s big dreams.

If nothing in my shop quite fits what you’re looking for, I also offer a bespoke furniture painting service: your furniture, your way. Please  get in touch to discuss your ideas
